<\/div>\nThe Polar Bear Chalk Pastel Craft is a great addition to the polar animals printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n The Polar Bear Chalk Pastel Craft is a simple mixed art with pastels and paints to make a fun polar bear picture<\/p>\n I love the book by Gail Gibbons. She has so many great themes she has covered. She has a great one on Polar Bears<\/a>. It is fun to read to learn more about the bears.<\/p>\n We used this book as part of our theme for the week. Plus I wanted to do a fun and quick craft that many ages can do.<\/p>\n You are going to see the steps we used the make the Chalk Polar Bear craft. And when you are done do this other polar bear craft<\/a>.<\/p>\n You trace the polar bear cookie cutter<\/a> to make a polar bear stencil on cardstock. You can see the cookie-cutter we used and the stencil we made from it.<\/p>\n You can start this either way. But we started by doing the white for the ice first with the white soft pastel. We colored where we wanted the ice to be. You could also say it was there the snow would be in the picture.<\/p>\n Then we took two colors of the blue and blended the colors. This was fun to see how the two colors would mix together to create a fun new color. And yes using the soft pastels you can make a mess with the chalk.<\/p>\n Next, we made our brushes. We used a cotton balls<\/a> Then we placed our polar bear stencil on our background. You can place it where you want it to go. The white of the stencil helps you see where to paint. You could also skip the stencil part and use the cookie cutter for this part as well.<\/p>\n We then used the cotton ball paintbrushes to paint the polar bear onto our picture.
