<\/div>\nThe Heart Sensory Bin is a great addition to the valentines activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.<\/p>\n The heart sensory bin has acrylic hearts with a rice filler in a small paper size bin.<\/p>\n Simple and easy to put together for Valentine’s Day. It goes great with the book and you can read the book and play in the sensory bin.<\/p>\n You could also add in scoops<\/a> and tweezers<\/a> to this sensory bin.<\/p>\n use the hearts and rice to make shapes. You can use the shape cards to help them make the shape.<\/p>\n First and always sensory bins are for sensory play. And you can just use it for sensory play time. You can add scoops<\/a>, cups and tweezers<\/a>as well in the bin to make it fun. <\/p>\n But just playing in the hearts and rice is fun for kids.<\/p>\n A fun activity is scooping up handfuls and and pouring it back in to the bin.<\/p>\n You can see how many hearts they can scoop up and pour back in the bin.<\/p>\n It is fun activity and great to explore those sensory feelings.<\/p>\n Pouring the rice and hearts back in is great for kids to feel the difference in the rice and hearts as they slide off their hands.<\/p>\n You can also have fun just sorting the color of the hearts in the sensory bin. You can talk about the red, pink and purple colors.<\/p>\n There are several sets of acrylic heart colors you can use in the sensory bin. We just happen to have those three.<\/p>\n After the hearts are sorting you have a clear area to make shapes, numbers or letters with the Hearts.<\/p>\n You can see we made the letter H for hearts.<\/p>\n You could also take the hearts out of the sensory bin and use with it the heart ABC cards<\/a>. this is a fun extension you can do. And it is fun to have different ways to use the hearts.<\/p>\n Remember that sensory bins are fun for kids. And are great for kids of lots of different ages.
