Puzzles have been a favorite way to learn for us and having these number matching puzzles is loads of fun! They work on learning number digit and number words. <\/p>\n

When I’ve been teaching I know that I learned that not everyone learns the same ways and adding in a mix of hands-on and no-prep can make learning fun. And that is why we have these free fireworks matching puzzles<\/strong>. They provide an extra way to learn.<\/p>\n

I also hear a lot during the summer that people want more hands-on and less no-prep so these are great for that.<\/p>\n

I love having new printables for the 4th Of July theme<\/a>! I know kids love having changes and new things.<\/p>\n

Why match the number digit to the number word? <\/h2>\n

At some time kids have to learn to match the two things together. It is not always easy but needs to be learned. And puzzles can make that step easier. You can see the two together at the same time.<\/p>\n

There are four puzzles on each page. They have the number digit on the left and the number word on the right. You have numbers for 1 to 20. This allows you to work on the numbers you need.<\/p>\n

I recommend printing on cardstock<\/a>\"\" and laminating<\/a>\"\" the puzzles to help them last longer.<\/p>\n

    Ways to use these number matching puzzles<\/h2>\n

    Here is one simple way to set up the matching. I have the number digit in order and then the word mixed up. You can change this up to fit your needs. But when starting out I like to stick to the digit in order.<\/p>\n

    If you are just starting to work on larger numbers and number words you can always how the puzzles matching to start with and then mix up the side and then match.<\/p>\n

    Now if you want to make this into a center but don’t have tons of space then put the puzzles on rings<\/a>\"\"! Kids can flip through the cards and match the numbers. Plus it makes it much easier to keep the puzzles from going all over.<\/p>\n

    If you are looking for more activities to do with the puzzles, then you can work on writing the number digit and number words you match. You can print the blank writing paper<\/a> and it will fit at least 10 matches on the page.<\/p>\n
