If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n This is a great addition to the summer printable<\/a> and Olympic printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n This week are are in the book Hour of the Olympics<\/a> Because the Olympics were a summer sport I thought it would be fun to do gross activities for summer sports!<\/p>\n You are going to find the following sports: cycling, basketball, rowing, running, swimming, and tennis.<\/p>\n You have two options for the gross motor set. You have a rolling dice game and gross motor cards.<\/p>\n You can see the rolling dice one below. It has all the movements and dice to the side.<\/p>\n The second one is the gross motor cards. There are six cards and I like to put them on a ring. These are small enough if you wanted you could put it in the cube dice<\/a> There is a summer sports selling set<\/a> that has more gross motor options you can also check out.<\/p>\n There are several summer sports that we picked. You can see all six of them sports are cycling, basketball, rowing, running, swimming, and tennis.<\/p>\n Cycling:<\/strong> You lay on your back and move your legs in a circle. You can do with with your legs low and legs high up in the air. You could also do it differently each time.<\/p>\n Basketball:<\/strong> You pretend to bounce a ball. You can pretend you have one ball two balls. And both hands bouncing the same ball.<\/p>\n Rowing:<\/strong> You pretend to be in a canoe rowing. You move your arms back and forth and lean forward at the same time as your arms are forward. Then when you pull your arms back you lean back.<\/p>\n Running:<\/strong> You can run in place, run around the room or run in a circle. Whichever works best for your space.<\/p>\n Swimming:<\/strong> you lay on the floor on your stomach and move your arms and kick your legs.<\/p>\n Tennis:<\/strong> you pretend to swing at a tennis ball. You can use one hand or with two hands. You can make sure to do swing with both arms if you do one arm at a time.<\/p>\n You can see the chart has dice from 1 to 6. You can just roll a die and then do the movement. If you do this you might want to pick how long they do each movement. You could day do the movement for 15 seconds or 30 seconds. You can pick the time based on the age of the kids doing the activity.<\/p>\n You can also check it up and use a 6-sided double dice<\/a>. It has two dice together. You roll the die and then the outside in the number you use for the gross motor and the inside number is how many times you do that movement.
