You will find it in the easy reader book section on the subscriber freebie page. <\/p>\n This is a great addition to the transportation printable<\/a>s on the site.<\/p>\n A short vowel word is a word that vowel has a short sound as you hear in cab, bus, and jet.<\/p>\n This book has simple sentences to work on short vowel CVC words with a transportation theme.<\/p>\n I always get asked how I make the easy reader books. Here are the simple steps that I use to make the books. I use scissors and a stapler.<\/p>\n You line up the pages and cut the line in the center of the page. Make sure you hold the pages tight while you cut.<\/p>\n The odd pages are on the top and the even of the bottom. You alternate the top and bottom of the page to make the easy reader book.<\/p>\n Then you staple the pages on the easy reader book. You can put in three or four staples on the book.<\/p>\n You make sure the pages are all straight and then staple the book on the left hand side. You can put three or four staples in to keep the book together.<\/p>\n There are several parts to the short vowel easy reader book set. You can see some of the ways to use them below.<\/p>\n You can start with the blending cards in the set. You can use clothespins<\/a> You can read the easy reader book and see the sight words and the short vowel words.<\/p>\n You can use the pocket chart cards with the book. They can build the sentences that is in the book as they read the book.<\/p>\n You can also just build all the sentences in the easy reader book. This is a great way to see the sight words and the words they are reading.<\/p>\n These cards encourage kids to sound out the words and then blend all the letters together to say the word.
