What are CVC words?<\/h2>\n

CVC words are words that have a consonant vowel consonant pattern. They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don\u2019t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.<\/p>\n

They are considered simple words that can be used with early readers to help sound out and decode words.<\/p>\n

You are going to find words like cat. Kids can sound out the letters C A & T. And then blend the sounds together to make the word cat.<\/p>\n

Some CVC words that kids learn are peg, job, kid, rug, bat.<\/p>\n

Each of the pages is going to have eight CVC words on the page. You will find a page for each short vowel sound: short a, short e, short i, short o, short u.<\/p>\n

You will have two four beginning letter sounds on each page. You can see an example below.<\/p>\n
