If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n This is a great addition to the pumpkin printables<\/a> and addition printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n An addition sorting mat is a mat that you use with kids to sort addition cards to the answer on the card.<\/p>\n This pumpkin addition sorting mat works on addition adding up to 5, 6 and 7. So you will find an addition sorting mat plus addition flashcards to sort to the mat.<\/p>\n You can see the pumpkin addition sorting mat. If you use this a lot print it on cardstock to help it last longer.<\/p>\n You have five pumpkins for each number to sort to the pumpkin addition mat. You can see nine of the addition cares below. These pumpkin addition flashcards are best printed on cardstock so that they can handle the sorting activity.<\/p>\n You also have an addition recording worksheet. You can use it to record the addition on the pumpkins. This is a great way to see if they got them all right.<\/p>\n You are going to see a few different ways to set up and use the pumpkin sorting mat and pumpkin addition cards.<\/p>\n You can set this up super easily. Don’t make it be complicated. You can see the addition sorting mat and the cards on the side. <\/p>\n You can use the addition recording mat or not.<\/p>\n So after you have it set up you sort the addition pumpkins to the mat. You can sort all 5 pumpkins or start with less pumpkins. <\/p>\n If you are working one on one with a child you can give them a number and have them tell you the what you are adding and what number it adds up to.<\/p>\n You can make the pumpkins a mini matching activity. You can pick two pumpkins for each number and have them match those. <\/p>\n If they are older have them match two sets of pumpkins for each number. It is a great way to work on addition.<\/p>\n Now if you don’t want to do the addition sorting activity, you can just use the pumpkin cards with the recording sheet.<\/p>\n You can keep the pumpkin loose as I have them below or you can put them on a ring. They go through the addition pumpkins and record their answers on the sheet.<\/p>\n Now if you want to do a hands-on activity then matching items to the equation is a great way to do this. You give them 7 acrylic pumpkins <\/a> or other small items. <\/p>\n They use the pumpkins to make the equation. So we have a group of 1 and a group of 4 to match the equation.<\/p>\n I also get asked if there is more math for kids to do.
