You can subscribe to the newsletter<\/a> and get access to the password there. You will find it in the CVC word family section on the subscriber freebie page. <\/p>\n CVC words are words that have a consonant vowel consonant pattern. They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don\u2019t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.<\/p>\n They are considered simple words that can be used with early readers to help sound out and decode words.<\/p>\n You are going to find words like cat. Kids can sound out the letters C A & T. And then blend the sounds together to make the word.<\/p>\n Some CVC words that kids learn are bag, map, sat, ham, pan, etc.<\/p>\n You have a fun short a easy reader book with CVC short A words. Each page has two words on the page.<\/p>\n You can sound out the letters of the word, see a picture of the word and the CVC letters together to make the word. I use scissors and a stapler.<\/p>\n You start by lining up the pages and cutting down the middle of the book. You want to make sure you hold the pages steady while you cut.<\/p>\n You alternate the pages of the book. The odd pages are on the top and the even pages on the bottom. You have even and then odd until all the pages are sorted.<\/p>\n After you make sure all the pages of the book are lined up, staple the book on the left side. Then your easy reader book is ready to be used.<\/p>\n You will see a few suggestions on how to use they CVC short a word books for kids.<\/p>\n You can go through each of the pages and read each on the page. You have two words for each word ending to read and sound out. It is great to work on what is the same on each page.<\/p>\n You can have kids say each of the letters in the book. Then have them sound out the letters.<\/p>\n You can give them a pointer or you can use a craft stick<\/a> as a pointer. <\/p>\n They point to each letter and say the letter sounds. You can have them do that several times. It is a great way to work on the short a sound with different beginning and ending sounds.<\/p>\n Then after the picture is a is the CVC words with all the letters together.
