<\/div>\nThe CVC Short O Word Book is a great addition to the CVC printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n This is part of my subscriber library. You can subscribe to the newsletter<\/a> and get access to the password there. You will find it in the CVC word family section on the subscriber freebie page.<\/p>\n CVC words are words that have a consonant vowel consonant pattern. They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don\u2019t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.<\/p>\n They are considered simple words that can be used with early readers to help sound out and decode words.<\/p>\n You are going to find words like dog. Kids can sound out the letters D O & G. Then blend the letter sounds to make the word.<\/p>\n Some CVC words that kids learn are dog, cob, pop, hot etc.<\/p>\n You have a fun short o easy reader book with CVC short O words. Each page has two words on the page.<\/p>\n You can sound out the letters of the word, see a picture of the word and the CVC letters together to make the word. You have several books in the set that work on short o words.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n I always get asked how I make the easy reader books. Here are the simple steps that I use to make the books. I use scissors and a stapler.<\/p>\n You start by lining up the pages and cutting down the middle of the book. You want to make sure you hold the pages steady while you cut. You can use binder clips to help hold the pages while you cut.<\/p>\n You alternate the pages of the book. The odd pages are on the top and the even pages on the bottom. You have even and then odd until all the pages are sorted.<\/p>\n You can find the page numbers on the top left side of each page.<\/p>\n After you make sure all the pages of the book are lined up, staple the book on the left side. Then your easy reader book is ready to be used.<\/p>\n And now your CVC short O book is ready to use!<\/p>\n You will see a few ways we use the CVC short o easy reader book printable.<\/p>\n You can start by reading through the book with kids. You can say the letter sounds and the words. You could also color the book as you read the pages. You can talk about the cop and the mop on the page below and the sounds the letters make<\/p>\n This is a great way to introduce short o words to kids.<\/p>\n You can also work on sounding on each letter in the short o words. You can use a finger to point or a craft stick.<\/p>\n You point to each dot and say the letter sound that each letter makes.<\/p>\n After you sound out the letters have them said the words. You can have them work on blending the letters slowly and then saying the word faster.<\/p>\n You can repeat the last two steps over and over until kids understand the sounding out and the blending of the letters to make the words.<\/p>\n The CVC Word Family Sound it Out Printable<\/a> is great addition to the CVC Short O easy reader books.
