<\/p>\n<\/div>\nThe Red, Yellow and Green Sensory Bin is a great addition to the apple activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.<\/p>\n This sensory bin has the colors of apples for the fall. You have colored acrylic rocks in red, yellow and green. You have a rice filler and a bin to hold it all.<\/p>\n The red, yellow and green sensory bin takes a minute of less to put together.<\/p>\n Apples<\/a> by Gail Gibbons are always great books to read. The rice and colors make it easy to explore for kids. You can add items like cups and scoops as well.<\/p>\n But remember a sensory bin is a great place to just play for sensory needs.<\/p>\n Grab handfuls of the rice and colored acrylic rocks. You can talk about the colors in they see. Count the ones on top.<\/p>\n You can take handfuls of the rice and rocks and then pour them back into the bin. The sound the rice makes bouncing on the rocks is fun to hear and a little calming for some kids.<\/p>\n You can have kids sort the colors red, green, and yellow in the sensory bin. This is great for fine motor skill to pick up the colored rocks. It is also great for them to work on colors.<\/p>\n This is a great time again to talk about colors of apples.<\/p>\n You can grab a handful of rice and acrylic rocks. You will need a tray close by and have them pour the handful out. You can count how many greens, reds, and yellows were in each handful. Then put it back in the sensory bin and do it again.<\/p>\n You can work on There are just a few ideas for older kids.<\/p>\n And just remember this is for sensory bin. Don’t make it to be more if kids just need a time to play. And trust me sensory bins are fun!<\/p>\n And a note, sensory bins don’t just end with preschool and kindergarten.
