Counting is using numbers starting at one.<\/p>\n The candy counting game is a game that works on counting candy piece in the jar with matching numbers in the center for kids to color.<\/p>\n You have kids work on counting from 1 to 10 with this game.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. They are super fun and easy to use.<\/p>\n Here is a look at setting up the candy counting game. You can see the clear counters<\/a>, a die, and an eraser. You could use anything for the game token. Unifix cubes also work great. <\/p>\n This counting game set up works great when you want to reuse the game over and over.<\/p>\n If you need a die you can get one from the number writing dice<\/a>.<\/p>\n You place your token at the start. It is in the top left-hand corner of the board. <\/p>\n Then you roll the die and move that many spaces around the candy counting game board.<\/p>\n You look at the image and count how many candy pieces are in the jar. Then you find and color the number below. There are at least two of each number. Then you cover that image. <\/p>\n You move around the board until you have four words in a row.<\/p>\n Below you can see we rolled a number four. We moved four place on the board. Then we counted seven candy pieces and covered the number seven.<\/p>\n You can see what a finished game looks like. We have rolled the dice and gone around the board counting and covering numbers.<\/p>\n This way to using the counting game means you can use it over and over.<\/p>\n You can use dot markers<\/a> on the game board. This is a great way to just work on counting and then just do the numbers. <\/p>\n And you could just skip the four and have them roll and dot until all the numbers are covered.<\/p>\n You can also use crayons<\/a> to color in the box or just color the number. You can have kids count the candy piece out loud to see they are counting them correctly.<\/p>\n You can also pull out the candy counting mat<\/a> and use with the game.
