<\/p>\n<\/div>\nThe CVC Word Game is a great addition to the CVC Word Family printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n The CVC Word Game is part of my subscriber library. You can subscribe to the newsletter<\/a> and get access to the password there. You will find it in the CVC section on the subscriber freebie page. <\/p>\n CVC words are words that have a consonant vowel consonant pattern. They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don\u2019t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.<\/p>\n They are considered simple words that can be used with early readers to help sound out and decode words.<\/p>\n They have short vowel sounds that make sounding out words easy.<\/p>\n You are going to find words like cat. Kids can sound out the letters C A & T. And then blend the sounds together to make the word.<\/p>\n Some CVC words that kids learn are bag, map, sat, sad, pan, etc.<\/p>\n You have five short vowel games with a mix of short vowel words with the same vowel sound. Plus a recording worksheet to use with the game.<\/p>\n You have short a, short e, short i, short o, and short u word games boards. You have 24 images of short vowel words on the outside of the game and matching short vowel words in the center.<\/p>\n There is also a recording sheet to keep track of the CVC words they land on during the game.<\/p>\n The recording worksheet is a great way to add on handwriting to the games. You could use anything for the game token. Seasonal erasers are also fun to use on the CVC game.<\/p>\n If you need a die you can get one from the number writing dice<\/a>.<\/p>\n You have your place at the starting spot. You roll the die and then move that many spaces around the outside of the board.<\/p>\n They use the clear counter to cover the CVC word that matches the picture on the board where they landed.<\/p>\n You play until you have four words in a row. There is only one word that matches for each picture on the board game.<\/p>\n Don’t forget the recording list you can use with the game. It lets you write the words that you land on. It is great for handwriting and working spelling CVC words.<\/p>\n If you are going to use the CVC word games just one time you can have kids color or dot marker<\/a> the CVC game. They can move around the outside and then dot the words on the center.<\/p>\n You can reuse the CVC games by putting them in sheet protectors<\/a>. They can move around the board and then circle the words with dry erase markers<\/a> as they find them.
