<\/p>\n<\/div>\nThe Snowflake Skip Counting Strips is a great addition to the winter printables<\/a> and skip counting printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n Skip counting is counting forward or backward by a number other than 1.<\/p>\n So that would be like skip counting by 2 and you would have the numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc.<\/p>\n A lot of skip counting is also part of repeat addition and multiplication.<\/p>\n You skip count four times by two 2, 4, 6, 8. You get eight as the ending number. It is the same as 2+2+2+2=8 or 2\u00d74=8.<\/p>\n The snowflake skip counting strips have four strips for each number. You have two strips that go forward and two that skip counting backward. Plus, there is a skip counting recording sheet you can use as well.<\/p>\n You have a set of skip counting strips going forward. You have a set that has three numbers and you write the next two. There is a set where you have two numbers skip counting and you fill in the last three skip counting numbers.<\/p>\n You also have a set where they are skip counting backward. You have a set that has three numbers and you write in the last two. And also the set where you have two numbers and you skip counting and write the last three.<\/p>\n The snowflake recording sheet has space for all 5 numbers from the skip counting strips. Plus a way to ask kids what number they are skip counting by. You can use the single page for kids to write in the missing numbers with two number skip counting forward and two skip counting backwards.<\/p>\n You can also just put a skip counting page in a sheet protector<\/a> and do the same thing without laminating.<\/p>\n Below you can see a set up for a snowflake skip counting center idea. You have several number strips, with a dry erase marker and skip counting bookmarks<\/a>. <\/p>\n The skip counting bookmarks are great for kids who are struggling with skip counting.<\/p>\n After you have the skip counting math center set up kids can write the skip counting numbers on the strip.<\/p>\n You can see below how easy it is to do. Just wipe off between each of the kids.<\/p>\n If you have issues with the dry erase marker sticking then use dry erase board spray <\/a>on the strips. You put a little of the spray on a paper towel and use it to wipe of the numbers.<\/p>\n Now not everyone is great at writing but still needs to work on the numbers you can use the skip counting tiles<\/a> to have numbers to place on the skip counting trips. You can give them all 12 and they could use them all or just the numbers that they need.<\/p>\n Now if you love the strips but want more of a skip counting center with a way to keep track of how they did.<\/p>\n Then use the recoding sheet.
