<\/div>\nThe Gingerbread Man Number Sense Sorting Printable is a great addition to the gingerbread printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n Subitizing is the ability to recognize a small group of objects without counting. This would be with dots, dice, and tally marks as examples of groups of objects. Subitizing is part of the development of number sense.<\/p>\n The gingerbread man number sense sorting and gingerbread men with numbers and gumdrops to sort for each number. This is a great hands-on learning for working on number sense. Each gingerbread man has four numbers to sort and is great for a number learning center for kids.<\/p>\n The number sense printable works for kids in kindergarten (ages 5 to 6) and first grade (ages 6 to 7).<\/p>\n You have several numbers for each gingerbread man. They have numbers from 1 to 10 on the cards. This helps keep the cards together longer with multiply uses. <\/p>\n If you are only going to use a few times then you can print it on cardstock and use it a few times. You can do the option that works best for you needs.<\/p>\n As with all printables you can work on sorting all the gumdrops to all the gingerbread men. You can stack the numbers on the gingerbread mans arms, Or you could sort the gumdrops below. Either will work the idea it to make sure they have the right gumdrops to the right gingerbread man.<\/p>\n You can see the sorting below with the numbers 5 and 6.<\/p>\n You could start with matching only one gumdrop to each gingerbread man. You can see we use the numbers and then sorting only one gumdrop. We use the same color of gumdrop for this.<\/p>\n You can start this way for beginners and then work up to work gumdrop as you go. This is a great way to check how they are working on their number sense also.<\/p>\n You can work on putting the numbers in order as well. This let them see how the numbers change on each gumdrop. You can see we used dominos for the number order. This helps kids see the numbers going up and how much fun it can be to learn about different numbers.<\/p>\n You can do this for each of the gumdrops.
