There are many different fractions that kids can work on.<\/p>\n The Three Billy Goat fraction bridge puzzles and building cards gives you a fun way to learn fractions and talk about the different sizes of fractions and use them with a fun story that is a classic with kids.<\/p>\n You have bridge fraction puzzles and bridge building cards with fractions on the cards.<\/p>\n Each of the bridge fraction puzzles are horizonal. The puzzles have the fractions on are under the bridge. I laminate each of the fraction puzzles. This makes the puzzles last longer. The fractions start the left side of the bridge and build up going to the right.<\/p>\n This is to help kids learn more about fractions with a similar picture.<\/p>\n You will find fractions for the following numbers: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10.<\/p>\n The bridge building fraction cards has fractions for each of the numbers all the while tot he whole for each number. This is a way to explore the different fractions for each number. You have three Billy Goats to use with the fractions cards as well.<\/p>\n You have a fraction building mats that kids can use the build the fractions of the bridges. It is a great guide for those that need help making the fraction puzzles. This will help kids need how much of the bridge is left to build.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n The Three Billy Goats Gruff <\/a> by Paul Galdone is a fun telling of the Three Billy Goats Gruff story. It is about crossing the bridge and getting to the green grass on the other side.<\/p>\n We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. You can use the ones that works best for your kids.<\/p>\n You can start by preparing the fraction puzzles. You can print them on cardstock and laminate them. After you have the puzzles laminated you can cut them out.<\/p>\n You can see one the puzzle but out below. <\/p>\n You can have kids just learning fractions build the bridge in order. You can talk about how the puzzle goes up that the fraction it builds goes up as well.<\/p>\n Puzzles are a great visual look at fraction numbers. And it is great for kids who need a hands-on activity for kids.<\/p>\n You can print the fraction puzzles and puzzle mat on copy paper. Then you can have kids cut the puzzles out with scissors. After the fraction puzzle is cut out they glue the faction puzzle in order on the puzzle mat. A great fraction center idea.<\/p>\n You can compare different fractions. You can pick two random puzzle and slowly build the puzzles. You can see the 1\/3 is bigger than 1\/4 but when you look at the other side of the bridge that the 4 fraction puzzle has more pieces. <\/p>\n The puzzles are easy to use and fun for kids to learn and review fractions.<\/p>\n You can also work on building fractions that are the same. This can be a challenge as not all of the fraction puzzles will work but that is also a good learning tool.<\/p>\n You can see below we have the 1\/2 and 1\/4 fraction puzzles. You can see the 1\/2 and 2\/4 are the same. And the bridge on other side is also the same. it is a good visual way to look at fractions.<\/p>\n You can use the bridge crossing cards to build the bridge puzzles. You are going to use a fraction puzzle and the matching building cards. This allows you to build the bridge for each of the cards.<\/p>\n You pull a card and build the bridge in order starting on the left with the lowest fraction number up to the number on the card. In this case we used 4\/5 and build the bridge out to 4\/5 to match the card.<\/p>\n You can keep the puzzles mats together and have kids use bridge crossing cards to show how far the Billy goat went across the bridge.<\/p>\n You can see we have the 6 fraction puzzle below. And the Billy Goat went 2\/6 across the bridge. And the Billy Goat is placed that far across the bridge.<\/p>\n You can do this activity with every puzzle puzzle in the set.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n Free 3 Billy Goats Gruff Pack<\/a> has 70 pages of printables to use that have elements from the story with puzzles, clip cards and more.
