<\/div>\nThe Paint Stick Poppy Painting is an excellent addition to the Veteran’s Day<\/a> section on the site.<\/p>\n Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States, observed annually on November 11, to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. It was initially called Armistice Day for the anniversary of the end of World War I.<\/p>\n Poppies are a big part of Armistice Day for a lot of the world and can be used for Veterans’ Day and Memorial Day. <\/p>\n This simple painting activity for kids can be done with paint sticks and paper. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n You are going to see all the steps we used to make the paint stick poppy painting.<\/p>\n You are going to use the green paint stick to make small lines of grass or green plants at the bottom of the paper. It is about 1 1\/2 or 2 inches high on the bottom of the paper.<\/p>\n We used a piece of scrap paper until our painting paper so that the extra paint went on the paper and not of the table.<\/p>\n Next you are going to paint the stems for the poppy painting. You can see we made somewhat straight lines from the middle of the paper to the green.<\/p>\n You can do a mix of heights for the poppies that you are painting. Let kids decide how many poppies and how might they should be.<\/p>\n Then we painted the poppies. We made a circles at the top of the green stem. The circles can be a mix of cirlce like shapes for the poppies.<\/p>\n If you press harder the poppies will fill in more. And if your press lighter it will show the texture of the paper. And let kids decide which way they want to paint.<\/p>\n The final step that we did was to paint the black center of the poppy.
