<\/p>\n<\/div>\nThe Prewriting Practice Printable Dice is a great addition to the prewriting printables<\/a> on the site. <\/p>\n Pre-writing is the skill to build to work up to writing letters and other types of writing. It also teaches the direction that we read.<\/p>\n You start out with thick prewriting lines and work to thinner prewriting lines. Then to prewriting patterns that work into writing letters.<\/p>\n The Prewriting Practice Printable Dice help kids work on prewriting in a fun prewriting center. You have prewriting strokes on dice, prewriting pages and prewriting mat printables. <\/p>\n These prewriting printables are great for kids in preschool (ages 3 to 4), prek (ages 4 to 5), and kindergarten as a way to change up prewriting activities.<\/p>\n You have two sets of dice that are cube dice<\/a> inserts or foldable dice. Each of the dice has different prewriting strokes on each of the dice. They are fun and different from just tracing lines.<\/p>\n You have several prewriting help mats. You have two prewriting mats for kids to put the prewriting practice dice and then below write or draw what they rolled on the dice. These mats make great fine motor centers as well.<\/p>\n There is also a prewriting mat that just has six square for kids to write the dice strokes.<\/p>\n You have two tracing mats that match the dice, plus there is a mat with all the dice inserts for prewriting. And I love that these are black and white so you can use color copy paper with these prewriting mats! Then you wipe it clean and start again.<\/p>\n You can see the second prewriting mat here. You roll the prewriting practice die or even the small folding prewriting die and then draw the matching picture on the squares below. You will have space for three rolls on the page.<\/p>\n Now these mats are also great to change up from prewriting to using playdough to make the picture or lines on the die. It works for those kid who might not be ready for just draw the prewriting lines and pictures. But still lets you use the prewriting printable.<\/p>\n This works best with the bigger mat. Kids roll the ide and then use playdough snakes to match the prewriting picture.<\/p>\n You can have kid roll the dice and then trace one of the matching prewriting squares. You can see there are two places to trace for each side of the prewriting practice die. Both prewriting practice dice have matching prewriting worksheets.<\/p>\n You can see that we put the prewriting practice worksheet in a sheet protector<\/a> and used dry erase markers<\/a> to trace the page over and over.<\/p>\n You can just use the prewriting practice inserts without putting them in a dice. You can have them go through all the pictures and write them on the practice mat. This is a fun fine motor center idea because they will write six different strokes on the mat. And all the kids will have the same pictures but might do them in different orders as well.<\/p>\n And you can mix and match the prewriting pictures between the two dice.<\/p>\n Now the fun part of having the prewriting dice is that you can be flexible with how you use them. You can print all the cube dice on cardstock and cut them out. Then put the prewriting practice squares on a ring. <\/p>\n Then kids can flip through the cards and trace the matching picture on the page!
