Handwriting Fun With Beach Themed Prewriting

I find that kids like a change in the activities they are doing. I know that kids love having their seasonal changes and the beach is one of our favorite ones to learn with.

Kids can have loads of fun practicing with these free beach prewriting activities. Plus see a few fun ways to use them.

This set of prewriting printables matches up with the Beach Pack. It has a lot of fun spring theme images in it like kids at the beach, sun sandcastles and more.

Each of the pages has one of three types of lines a solid thick line a solid dashed line or a fine thin line to trace. You can see an example of the thin line below.

Ways to use these beach themed prewriting printables

I always try and change up how we use the prewriting printables. One time we might use watercolors and another time we would use markers. There are so many ways you can use them.

It is fun to give kids markers and let them trace the lines in patterns. I love giving them two or three markers do this. You can do this with any of the lines in the set.

Another fun activity is to make this a hands-on fine motor activity and have them put something on the lines. We have severa things we have used but these small rock are loads of fun for fine motor work.

A favorite at our house is always dot marker. The ticker lines are perfect to dotting with dot marker.

If you want to reuse the sheets you can always put them in sheet protectors and trace them over and over. We store ours in binders to make them easier to flip through the pages.

A final fun suggestion is to make this a playdough mat! You can make playdough snakes to trace the lines with. It is great for building fine motor skills plus a great way to reuse the pages.
