Several years ago I was apart of several book clubs that you could do with kids and we loved them. A lot of them were preschool and tot based and my girls outgrew them. It was a sad time for them and me.
But we progressed into chapter book reading and I love reading chapter books with my girls. You never know what will find that you like in the stories.
So when I heard about that bloggers were going to be doing a Magic Tree House activities. I just had to join!
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
Each of my girls has read through the Magic Tree House series. When my oldest was just starting out we bought the Magic Tree House Boxed Set, Books 1-28. And we loved it. We had the books and could just jump from book to book. Plus I know that buying the books in groups is easier than buying them one at a time. Plus you can find these and used book stores as well!
My youngest is still making her way through the books. And it is fun to read them with her. So this book club comes at the right time for us.
How does this Magic Tree House Book Club Work?
Well, every two weeks a group of bloggers will do an activity based on the book. That means that is 24 weeks we will go through 12 books. Each blogger will blog about different activities so you have a wide range of activities to try out with the books. We are working the activities for kids ages 6 to 9.
I’ll be updating this page with my activities and links to other bloggers posts as well. This will be a great way to explore books plus loads of fun at the same time.
Magic Tree House Books and Activities
Every two weeks this page will get updated with new books and activities. You can see the book and some idea about the activities we did with the book.
Dinosaurs Before Dark
There is a fun spelling activity you can check out. It has several dinosaur names for kids to work on. Plus here is a dinosaur themed chapter book they can use as well.
Knight at Dawn
A great way to work on nouns and verbs from the book with a fun sorting activity. You have hands-on sorting and a writing activity they can do.
Mummies in the Morning
Another fun noun activity but this time working person, place, or thing. You have the hands-on sorting and the writing activity for using some of the nouns. All the nouns can be found somewhere in the books.
Pirates Past Noon
Every now and then we need a different way to learn a math skill. This has a fun hands-on division activity to teach or review for kids how to make groups out of a bigger number. It works on division with 2 sets of task cards, sorting mat, gems and recording sheet.
You can also check out all the Pirate activities on the site.
Night of the Ninjas
You can have so much fun being a ninja with this activity. We did a fun ninja gross motor activity with a lot of the movements that come from the book. Plus you can always come up with new ninja movements to do.
Afternoon on the Amazon
Gross motor happens to be one of our favorite activities to do. We loved our animal gross motor dice and thought it would be fun to have a set of gross motor activities for the rainforest!
Sunset of the Sabertooth
Check out our great cave painting activity we did with the book. It was fun to make a part of the story come alive for us.
Midnight on the Moon
We have a fun activity to work on phases of the moon in a fun 3D model for kids to make and see how it looks.
Be sure to check out all the moon activities on the site.
Dolphins at Daybreak
We had a great time learning more about ocean animals. We used information sheets to write what we knew about each of the animals.
Be sure to check out all the ocean activities on the site.
Ghost Town at Sundown
We had fun reading about the wild west and seeing some of the desert animals in the book. For this book we did a nouns and verbs sorting activity.
Lions at Lunchtime
We did a really fun and easy painting of lions and giraffes. It is an easy craft that different ages could do.
Be sure to check out all the zoo activities on the site.
Polar Bears Past Bedtime
You can sort nouns and verbs that are in the book. This could be used to match nouns and verbs as you read the book as well.
Be sure to check out all the polar animals activities on the site.
Vacation Under The Volcano
We had some fun learning about Hercules and making a volcano to erupt. It was a great way to explore volcanos and history. Plus we did a second activity!
Day of the Dragon King
You can have fun making craft stick books like the bamboo books that ancient China had for books. Super fun to make and then write a letter or even a story in.
Viking Ship at Sunrise
You will have fun making a Viking ship that sails on the water. It is a great craft to match up to the book.
