Snowy Winter Gross Motor Dice for Indoor Fun

During winter keeping my girls active can sometimes be a challenge. But by adding simple gross motor dice they get moving and have tons of fun with it!

You never know when you are going to be stuck inside because of snow or cold weather. There are times my girls want to move but don’t want to go outside. The movement dice give them a way to get their wiggles out without doing or needing much.

My girls have loved different gross motor dice and we use them often. It is fun to change up the style of movements that we do.

It has been fun to add a few more themed sets. Winter has so many great outdoor sports to mimic. Plus you can have fun pretending while doing the movements.

There are two dice: movements and speed. The cube dice have the movements on them and the make your own dice have just the movement name.

We love using the cube dice because they last longer and my give can switch out the movements if they want with other gross motor dice sets.

Winter Gross Motor Movements

Here is a look at all the movements. You can always make up your own way to doing the movement! As long as kids are moving and having fun what else really matters.

Snowman: You start at the floor and grow up tall. You could also do reverse and melt the snowman.

Snowflake: You wave your arms around while slowly falling to the ground.

Shovel: You pretend to shovel the snow. You can do big or small movements. We like to do the shoveling movement across the body.

Skiing: You jump from side to side like we are skiing down a hill.

Snow Angel: You lay on the floor and make the movement of making a snow angel.

Snowball: You pretend to throw snowballs. You can do both arms together or one at a time.

After you have the movements then add the dice! They are loads of fun to use. If you want to add another dice you can use the number writing dice to see how many times to do the movement. This makes it a fun change.

You can do them any way you want. We do the movement dice by itself for a while and change it up by adding the speed dice. It is a fun change. Plus you can do the speed dice one time and not the next. Now after our speed and movement dice are down we add the number dice. It is just one more fun change you can do.

Plus my girls LOVE to throw the dice straight up in the air!
