The Earth Day Ten Frame Cards are a great way to work on counting and math at the same time. It is an activity you can do so many different ways and is flexible for different learning styles.
These work great for one to one correspondence with a fine motor activity. They are a fun hands-on activity and a lot of kids love to do those.
It is a great addition to the Earth Day printables on the site.
Ten Frames are a great way to work on counting and math at the same time and they are used a lot in the start of Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade. By using the ten frames kids have a different way of learning counting.
I love Earth Day and I thought these cards with the recycle bin and ten frames would be a fun way to help kids with counting. Plus they are a great addition to the Earth Day Learning Pack.
There are two types of ten frame cards. This allows for different levels of learning.
You have a number and matching numbers filled in on the ten frame. It is great for the beginner to use.
You have a number on the recycle bin and a blank ten frame. It is good for the older kindergarten and review for first grade.
One way we use the ten frame cards that are fill in is to have my girls cover the items to match the card. You can have them count while they do it. We use clear glass gems or clear counting chips for this. It allows they to still see the number they covered.
One way I have used the blank ten games where I printed the pages as they are and used a dot marker on them.
