One of my favorite parts about spring is the blossoms on the trees. The blossoms are just about to come out here. I like that there are so many different kinds of blossoms.
Spring crafts are some of my favorite to do. I love that there are so many colors to use. Two years ago we did what I think was my favorite spring blossom craft. Today’s craft is a small twist on that one. We did some of the same painting techniques but did a small twist.
We read the book Seasons by Anne Crausaz. It is one of my favorite books to read in spring. I love the pictures and watching the seasonal changes in the book. I think we read it every year.
One part I think about changing up crafts is that as my girls get older, they each have their idea of what they want to do. They can each create the craft their way. I also love to join them when we are doing crafts.
We used the skinny part of the foam brush to make our tree branches. We made the branches that our blossoms would be on. Each had their idea of what the tree should look like.
We let the black paint dry a little before we started to put on our blossoms. The girls and I put the glue on the branches where they wanted the blossoms. Then we covered the tree with our blossoms. This was an easy for some fine motor work picking up and scrunching the tissue paper to make the blossoms.
Here is a look at our final craft:
