A simple ocean button sensory bin for kids. We love the ocean theme during the summer. It is always fun. And this simple ocean sensory bin is fun for kids.
We used a mix of ocean animals and buttons. The ocean sensory bin is easy to setup and loads of fun for kids to play in.
The ocean button sensory bin is great for kids in prek and kindergarten.

What is a sensory bin?
A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.
Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.
Ocean Button Sensory Bin
The ocean button sensory bin is a simple to set up sensory bin. it has a button filler and different types of ocean animals. We used two sets of Ocean Toobs to make this sensory bin.
The buttons are a no food filler and can be different sizes to make sure the size of buttons are okay for kids. We use the sensory bin for kids in prek (ages 4 to 5) and kindergarten (ages 5 to 6). But remember only kids might like the sensory bin as well.

Commotion in the Ocean is a favorite book for us. We love reading the book. The poems are fun and there are so many great ocean animals in the book.

Ways to Use the Ocean Button Sensory Bin
you will see a few ways to use the ocean button sensory bin. And remember these are just ideas. And you can do something different and that is okay!
Play in the Ocean Button Sensory Bin
Sensory bins are for sensory play and adding different items to the same theme can be fun. You can play in the ocean animals with the buttons. The buttons change up the sensory bin from an ocean rice sensory bin.
And if all you do is play in the sensory bin then that is okay!

Matching the Same Ocean Animals
You can have a little fun with looking and exploring the different ocean animals. If you need to know names they are on the back of each ocean animal.
You can have fun by having them match similar ocean animals. So that sharks are all together in one area. You can also talk about ocean animals that might no have a match in the sets.

You could also change it up and ask for different ocean animals in the sensory bin. You can say does the sensory bin have octopus? And then they find the octopi’s in the sensory bin.

Finding Buttons That Are The Same
You can also change it up and challenge them to dig through he sensory bin and find buttons that are the same shape and same color. With the big mix of buttons you might five several of each button.
You can see four buttons that we found that were the same.

Making Letters Or Shapes
A fun idea we do every now and then is challenge kids to make letters or numbers out of the items in the sensory bin. You can see we made the letter A with a few different letters. This is a fun way to add a little learning and challenge kids to make letters, numbers or shapes with items in the sensory bin.

Always Remember to Play in Sensory Bins
In the end just play in the sensory bin is okay. There are so many fun way to play and explore this fun button and ocean animal sensory bin.
And remember that only kids might like the sensory bin as well!
