Hands-On Counting With Baseball Number Matching Puzzles

It always seems that numbers are something we work on in the early years. I am always looking for new ways to work on those numbers.

Puzzles are a get activity for kids to learn numbers. Today I have the free baseball-themed number puzzles. They are a great way for kids to match numbers and count at the same time.

This is printable is a part of the Baseball Themed Week.

What I love about baseball is that it is a sport that starts in the spring. It goes through summer and into the fall. That means that these printables can be used for a long time.

Each of the puzzles has a number on the left side. And baseballs, gloves, and bats on the right side.

The numbers go from 1 to 20. There are 4 puzzles on each page. You can cut out the puzzles that you are working on.

One way to do the puzzles is to match of one side of the puzzles or the other. I lay them out in rows.

You can also do the puzzle match and then count out items to match the number. We used unifix cubes for this.

Another way to use these is to match the number and use them with a number color and trace page. This allows them to count the two items to see they match. But also to write or trace the number digit and number word.

But if you want a different activity you could match it up to a number find. You can do the puzzle then find the matching number on the bases.
