Counting can be one of those hard activities to work on. These mats make counting a lot of fun with a hands-on activity.
My youngest loves using ten frames for her counting activities. We have been working on it a little bit. I thought I would make some ocean mats to go with our Ocean themed summer we have been having.
I love the idea of these mats. You can use almost anything when you are counting on these. I love making these hands-on by give them different types of items to count with. We used blue glass gems for the ten frames and ocean counters for count the ocean animals. It is fun to see how creative they can be with their counting.
Each mat has a ten frame and the number in digits and words. This is such a fun way to work on ocean activities. Each number has it own page. One part I like about these is you can print just the number you want to work on.
I set up the counting mat we are working on and counters of both kinds up to 10 for each. If you have a younger child you can have the exact number you are working on.
These also work nicely with the Ocean Daily Number.
