ABC Gross Motor: Letter D

We did something fun with gross motor time this week. I made the girls a “D” on the floor with masking tape.

We used the “D” and “d” the following ways making sure to go one way and then reverse directions:

  • Acted like it is a balance beam
  • Simple walk around the outside and inside not touching the tape
  • Tip toe around
  • Jump in and out
  • Skipped around
  • Shuffled sideways
  • Trace with a pointer
  • Collect D items to put in it
  • Walk backwards on the lines

Upper case D

Lower case d

They also played in the D and around the D. It was a dinosaur parade at one time. Also a track way for the cars to go around.
