Christmas Ornament Wreath Craft

I love wreaths crafts. They are so many fun to do!

We have had a blast making different Christmas wreaths over the years. We love this new ornament wreath! It is a fun and easy way to make a wreath!

I love it when you can do a craft and book. We have several Christmas books that we just love. And one of them is Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree. I love all the different trees and how colorful they are. We decided to do an ornament wreath and decorate it with ornaments like a tree.

It is a great Christmas book and we love reading it each year!

Things to make this Ornament Wreath

This is a full list of all the items we use to make this ornament wreath.

• paper plate with center cut out
• watercolors
• watercolor paper
• oil pastels
• glue
• 5/8 inch circle shape
• 1 1/2 inch circle punch
• paper towel
• silver glitter cardstock

How to make the Ornament Wreath

You paint the paper plate green with watercolors. You could use dot markers for this as well. We had fun mixing the different greens on the paper plate.

When you finish set the paper plate aside.

You use a circle cut out to see the size we need to color on the paper. You then use oil pastels on the watercolor paper to make the ornament.

You then use a paper towel to blend the colors on the circle. This expands the colors and makes them have different textures of colors. We used watercolor paper because it makes blending the colors fun.

You then punch out the circle. You can see how pretty it looks punched out.

You repeat the steps above until you have all the ornaments that you want.

Then you cut the silver glitter cardstock to make the top of the ornament. You glue it on the back of the circle.

Then you finally glue the ornaments on the paper plate to make your wreath. This is can be as simple or complex as you want. But it is a fun way to make an ornament wreath.
