What is a Beginning Sound?
A beginning sound is often called the initial sound. A beginning sound is the first sound a word makes. You use these sounds to build on saying words.
Beginning sounds are an early literacy activity that kids do.
The Easter Beginning Sound printable works on four letters at a time with two matching beginning sound pictures for each letter.
Each of the pages has the color code for the letters at the top and eight eggs at the bottom to color.

Now if you want to reuse these beginning sound coloring pages, you can cover the beginning sound with something.
I love fun clear counters that are in rainbow colors that make the colors for the coloring. That way you can cover the beginning sound in that color. That makes this a reusable beginning sound page for a literacy center.
Hands-On Beginning Sound Center With Letters
You can use lacing letters to match the Easter eggs as well. This takes out the coloring part and just works on the letters and beginning sounds. You can give them two letters for each page and have them cover the matching beginning sound.
You can see we used the uppercase letters to match the key but you can also use the lowercase lacing letters.
Dot Marker the Beginning Sound
You can also use dot markers on the beginning sound of the letters. This makes it super simple for those that love dot markers. Just picked the four colors to match the key and then dot marker the beginning letter sound.
