What is Division?
Math division is a method of distributing a group of things into equal parts. You can take 12 and make it into four groups of three items.
So when you divide you make equal parts of the same thing.
So when you have 25 ÷ 5. You make five groups of 5 out of 25. It can be a tricky thing to teach.

Ways to Use the Easter Egg Division Spin and Cover Printable
You are going to see set up and a few ways to use these printables. And I love that this type of mat can be used for Easter.
Setting Up the Spinner
There are a few ways to use the spinner. You want t make sure you use the spinner that matches the set of numbers you are working on.
You have a clear spinners over the top of the spin and just spin the arrow. We like using it this way. It is also easy for kids to use.
You can also use a pencil and paperclips. You place the paperclip in the center and the pencil inside the paperclip. Then you flick the paperclip to make it spin around the pencil.
Spinning and Doting the Division Answers
You have the spinner in the left bottom corner for kids to spin. The spinner lands on a number. You write the number in the equations above. Then solve the equation and dot the answer on the egg.
This is a great worksheet to review division. You can have kids spin until all the numbers are covered.
Using Division Cards with the Easter Egg Mats
If you love the idea but don’t like the spinner then pull out the division flashcards. You can do one flashcard at a time and cover the answers on the Easter Egg.
You can still write the equation at the top and then dot the answers on the side.
This also works for the color set. You can have kids reuse this version as well. You can use clear counters to cover the numbers.
Cover and Solve Division
You can just do the cover and solve as well. This could be done with color or black and white. You cover a number and do the division for the number and find the answer.
You can also reuse this worksheet by laminating or putting in a sheet protector. Then use dry erase markers to write the equations.
