It is the exact position of an item rather than their quantity.

This would be like saying who came in 1st in a race. Or the order in which things are placed down. You could also use an example of the order of events in a story.

You can start with give them some of the ordinal number cards and having them put them in order. After you have the order you can go through and say the words: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

You can also make a two-part ordinal number matching game. You have them divided up by ordinal word and ordinal number.

You can also put the ordinal numbers cards on rings. You can have them flip through the cards to find the matches.

Easter Ordinal Nubmer Worksheet

The ordinal number worksheet has two parts to it. You fill out the numbers and color, then you answer the questions at the bottom.

The first part of the ordinal worksheet has the ordinal numbers to fill out and color. After you have the numbers fill out you read and color the eggs based on what you read below.
