A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.
Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types of filler with small items.

Ways to Use the Fall Button Sensory Bin
These are just ideas on how to use the sensory bin. And these are just idea and you don’t have to do them all.
Play in the Sensory Bin
The main purpose of sensory bins is for sensory play. You can just use your hands or add items like scoops or cups. Any way you play in the sensory bin is just fine. And kids will enjoy the fall colors and the buttons.
And the sound of rice on the buttons is fun.

Sort the Colors in the Sensory Bin
You can do a fun activity with sorting colors. You can sort all the button or just some of the buttons.
You could ask them to find a color and amount of buttons. Find three red buttons. And then kids find three red buttons. It is fun to see them explore their colors and numbers as they sort.
And BTW buttons LOVE to hide in the rice.

Make Letters, Numbers & Shapes with the Buttons
You can have kids work on letters numbers and shapes. You can give them a letter and have them make that letter wit the buttons. We did r with red buttons, o with orange buttons and y with yellow buttons. A fun beginning sound for the color words.
You can also make numbers and shapes with the buttons.

Make Patterns with the Buttons
Because you have three colors you could work on ABC or AB patterns with kids. You can give them a patter to start with and they finish the pattern. A simple idea to do.
You can see an ABC pattern below.

You can see how you can do an AB pattern as well. You can use any two colors nad have fun with it.

And Remember to Just Play in the Sensory Bin
The best part of a sensory bin is for sensory play. Let kids dig in and find all the buttons and play. They will have fun just playing. And really that is what sensory bins are for.
