What is a digraph?
A digraph is two letters together that make one sound. Digraphs can be made up of vowels or consonants.
Some examples of consonant digraphs would be ch-, -ch, -ck, gh, kn-, ph, qu-, sh-, -sh, th-, -th, wh-, and wr-.

You have four ending digraph sorting mats. Each of the mats has the ending digraphs on a cloud and the mat below for kids to sort the raindrops on. You can see the -ch, -ck, -sh, and -th on the clouds.

You have four raindrops for each of the mats. They have a picture that has an ending digraph for the word. If you are going to use these a lot then it is best to print on cardstock and laminate.

Ways to Use the Raindrop Ending Digraph Sorting Printable
Setting up the Ending Digraphs Sorting Activity
You can do this several ways but one way that we like to do it best is to have the four sorting mats at the top and the raindrop below. You can also put the raindrop in the bin for them to pull out and sort.
You can talk about what digraphs they are working on and that they are looking for the ending digraphs with these words.
Sorting Ending Digraph Raindrops Pictures
You can have them pull a raindrop and say the name of the picture. You can ask what sound is the ending sound. Then have them sort the picture to the correct mat.
Checking Sorting Ending Digraph Raindrops Pictures With Digraph Worksheet
After they have sorted the raindrop you can have them check if they sorted correctly with the ending digraph tracing worksheets. You can have them trace all the words on the worksheet.
Ending Digraph Raindrops and Worksheet
You can also use the raindrops as a learning center for kids. You can put the raindrop on a ring and have kids flip through the raindrops to find the correct ones for each digraph worksheet.
You can then trace the words as they find the matching raindrop.
Using the Ending Digraph Tracing Worksheet
Now if you want a no-prep printable you can just use the worksheet. You can have kids look at the picture and color the picture the trace the words on the worksheet.
The worksheet has a clear look at the digraph that they are learning. You could also have them underline the digraph at the end of the word.
