The shark color word playdough mats have a shark at the top of the playdough mat. Then you have the color word below in a bubble font that is great for playdough mats.
Each mat is a great way to see the color at the top with a shark and then work on spelling the color word with the letters that are perfect for playdough. You can use these with prek (ages 4 to 5), kindergarten (ages 5 to 6), and first grade (ages 6 to 7).

Preparing the Shark Color Word Playdough Mats
You can print the shark color word playdough mat on cardstock and laminate the page. This works great repeated use in learning centers.
If you are going to use these shark color word playdough mats only a few times then you can print it on white copy paper and then put the page in a sheet protector. If you do this option you can put all the pages in sheet protectors and store them in a binder or have kids flip through the pages and do all the color words.
Either way works great for working on color words.
And once you decide how you are going to prepare the playdough mats you are ready to use them for working on color words!

Setting Up a Shark Color Word Playdough Mat Center
After you have the shark color word prepared, add a matching color of playdough that matches the shark color. So if you do the red shark playdough mat use a red color of playdough. It is fun to match playdough that is the same color as the word you are working on.

Tracing the Color Words on the Shark Color Playdough Mats
You can also use this as a letter tracing page as well. You can use dry erase markers to trace the letters inside the bubble font for the color word.
You can use which ever dry erase marker works best for the child that is doing the writing.
