We always have sensory bins out at our house. This year for Hanukkah we have a rice base sensory bin. We have done others of them in the past. This year my girls picked out what would go into the bin.
We have done a yarn version and a candle and dreidel bin. You can check these ones out as well.
Every year we pick a book to read with our sensory bins. This year we read Runaway Dreidel! with our sensory bin. We always fun have reading the different books during Haunkkah.
One thing to remember about sensory bins is that they are meant for open play for kids. I do add some activities for them to do every now and then, but they are not needed. My youngest now makes her own activities from the sensory bins.
What you need for this activity: blue gems, rice, dreidels
, and coins.

One of the first activities she did was run her hands through everything and then picked out on dreidel to cover with rice. She used one of the coins to put the rice on the dreidel.

The second activity she wanted to do was to make patterns with the coins. The coins have two different images: menorah and Star of David. It makes great for simple patterns.

She also did a matching of the color and correct symbol on the dreidel. This was fun to see her turn to make sure the gimel matching gimel with the correct color.

One of the last activities that she did was pull out all the dreidels and coins. She then put them back in one at a time. It was something fun she loved to do. She loves that she can run her hands through the different items in the bin.
