How We Made the Mitten Stamp Painting

You can see the steps below that we used to make the Mitten Stamp painting.

Paint on Paper Plate or Tray

You want to put the paint on a paper plate or a paint tray. And you can do one paint per paper plate.

We like to put the paint in an oval shape on the plate to make it easier to spread the paint on the edges of the cookie cutter.

You place that cookie cutter in the paint and spread the paint around.

Stamping The Cookie Cutter on the Paper

Next you want to take the mitten cookie cutter that you just put paint on and then stamp it on the paper.

After you stamp the cookie cutter, you can lift it up and look at what the shape looks like on the paper.

You can see that you have the shape of a mitten on the paper. And know this that not every mitten might be complete or different levels of paint around the mitten.

Keep Stamping Mittens On the Paper

You want to keep stamping mittens on the paper. And kids might be able to do a few stamps before they need to go back for more paint.

And let them decide how many or what colors they will use.

You can do lots of different colors for this. We went with blue, purple, pink and cyan. But you could use any colors you want.

You can see how fun all the colors lock on the paper. And you can still see each mitten.

Remember it is okay if kids just do one color, or they just tamp a few mittens. This is their project and can look how they want.
