One of the basic learning things kids work on is skip counting. We can find many different symbols to help with this. my girls have always loved books to help with learning.
Since we have been doing more and more review of groups of, I thought this would be a fun way to change up what we are learning.

What is Skip Counting?
Skip counting is working on adding the same number over and over. You have a pattern of adding or counting.
So if you skip count by 2s, you have a pattern like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and so forth. These patterns can be repeated for many numbers.

I have also learned that no one child learns the same way. A worksheet will work for one where a hands-on activity does for another. We have to meet the needs they present us.
The book is just one way to look at the numbers with repeat addition and skip counting with a visual to help.
Each page of the book has 2 apples in a basket, a number we are skip counting by and a matching repeat addition problem on the bottom to match the visual picture.
How to Make the Apple Skip Counting Easy Reader Books
I always get asked how I make the easy reader books. Here are the simple steps that I use to make the books. I use scissors and a stapler.
You can make both skip counting books with these steps.
Cut Down the Center of the Easy Reader Book
You start by lining up the pages and cutting down the middle of the book. You want to make sure you hold the pages steady while you cut.
Alternate the Pages of the Easy Reader Book
You alternate the pages of the book. The odd pages are on the top and the even pages on the bottom. You have even and then odd until all the pages are sorted.
Staple the Left side of the Easy Reader Book
After you make sure all the pages of the book are lined up, staple the book on the left side. Then your easy reader book is ready to be used.
Ways to Use the Apple Skip Counting Easy Easy Reader Book Printables
We looked at each page and colors the apples in the baskets and then color the skip counting number. We looked at the addition problem at the bottom of the page. We did this through the whole book.
At the end of the book is a skip counting chart that you can look at to see skip counting by 2s.
