Math division is a method of distributing a group of things into equal parts. You can take 12 and make it into four groups of three items.
So when you divide, you make equal parts of the same thing.
So when you have 25 ÷ 5. You make five groups of 5 out of 25. It can be a tricky thing to teach.

Ways to Use the Apple Division Spin and Cover Printable
You are going to see set up and a few ways to use these printables. And I love that this type of division mat is great for the fall and back to school.
Setting Up the Spinner
There are a few ways to use the spinner. You want t make sure you use the spinner that matches the set of numbers you are working on.
You have a clear spinners over the top of the spin and just spin the arrow. We like using it this way. It is also easy for kids to use.
You can also use a pencil and paperclip. You place the paperclip in the center and the pencil inside the paperclip. Then you flick the paperclip to make it spin around the pencil.
Spinning and Doting the Division Answers
You can see how simple this use for a learning center or even homework. You use the spinner, solve the answer, and then cover or dot the apple. A great way to see how kids are working on their division facts. And you can give them the pages they need work on as well.
Using Division Cards with the Apple Mats
You can also skip the spinner and use the division cards in the set. Just place the division cards on the spinner and have kids go through the cards. Each set has 1 to 12 or 1 to 15 on a single page as well. A great way to mix up division cards and work on learning.
You can see below we reused the page by putting it in a sheet protector and using red rocks to cover the numbers.
Cover and Solve Division
If you want to avoid the spinning part, you can use just the cover and solve. Kids cover a number on the apple. Then they put the number in the equation and solve for the answer.
Another way to work on division with a slight change.
