Preparing the Flag Day Bookmarks
You are going to see a few ways that we have prepared these holiday bookmarks.
Print the Flag Day Bookmarks on Cardstock
The Flag Day bookmarks work best printed on cardstock. That helps it stand up to repeated use over time. And it is easier to cut the bookmarks out as well. If you want the bookmark to look a little fancy then use the stardust cardstock. It adds a little more color on each book mark
You can also laminate the bookmarks so you can use then for a longer time.
Add a Ribbon or Yarn at the Top
You can also add a red, white and blue yarn at the top to finish the bookmark. You can see we used yarn but you could use thin ribbon as well.

You can use the Flag Day bookmarks in pictures books. Kids can use the bookmark to point to each of the words they are reading. You can us the circle at the to point to the words.
Use the to Keep Trace of Reading
You can have older kids write the page number in the book they are reading on the back of the bookmark. A fun way to keep track of how much they are reading at a time.
Or just an easy way to know the page they are on even if the bookmark falls out.
