January 2016 Book Finds

Each month I head out to look for fun books to read with my girls! I love finding new pictures books to read with all three of them. Yes that does include my older two girls that could read most of the books on their own. They still learn from me reading to them and I enjoy it.

This month is all our library book finds! We had so much fun but it was hard to narrow down our favorite books. We are always taking about at least 30 books a week from the library and we love it!

Janaury 2016 Book Finds: Pete the Cat, growing up, robots - 3Dinosaurs.com

Pete the Cat: Scuba-Cat (My First I Can Read) is a great addition to the Pete the Cat Series! I love that these are books that my youngest can work through as she is learing to read.

Little Tree is about a little tree that does not want to let go of its leaves. We follow the tree through the many seasons. The tree keeps ahold of its leaves. It is a great story about letting grow of things and growing.

Spare Parts is a great book about a robot with a broken heart. Just how will he get his heart to start. I love the different types of pictures in the book. They all work out so well. Plus find out how he fixes his heart.

Is Mommy? is a look at how kids see mommies. I love the questions and the answers from the kids. You will finds that all kids love their mommy!

Spells is about a frog who wants to be a prince! He is going to take spells into his own hands and make himself a prince. I loved reading the different spells comibnations You can read this book for a long time before you get to the end. The silly words are fun for kids to listen to. Plus you can mix things up so much! This was one we read over and over!

Peanut Butter & Brains: A Zombie Culinary Tale is a cute book about a zombie that does not want brains he just wants peanut butter and jelly! I love how he wanders through looking for his sandwhich while all the other zombies want brains. We got a great laugh out of this book.

Marilyn’s Monster is a book about how everyone has a monster. It works that your monster has to come to you. A lot of her friends have monsters but she does not. One day she decides she would set out to find her monster. I love the progress of the book and the learning.

Look and Be Grateful is a simple book about being thankful. I really like how he put the book together. This would be good for younger kids to learn more about being thankful for what we have.

The Night Our Parents Went Out is a great book about how kids imagination gets the better of them when mom and dad go out on a date. I love the word bubbles and how the babysitter helps them with their fears.
