Let them explore the rice with their hands and other tools but lot them play. No matter what else you do just remember there is no wrong way to play in a sensory bin.

Scoop and Pour the Rice
A great activity that we do a lot in sensory bins is scoop and pour with our hands. You scoop up with one hand or two hands and see how much rice you can take out of the sensory bin. And then put it back in different ways.

After you have handfuls of the rice, use your hands and pour the rice back in the sensory bin. This is loads of fun to repeat. And yes it can make a mess. Because rice likes to bounce a lot!

Another fun scoop and pour activity is where you use a measuring cup and having kids see how many scoops or rice to fill 1 cup or 2 cups. And then you pour it back in the bin and do it again.
Use Sensory Scoops In the Sensory Bin
We have some sensory scoops. They have a mix of different scoops and funnels for kids. And these tools can add more sensory play for kids. You can give them all of the scoops at one time or give a different out out each day.
You can see how fun it is to scoop up the rice in the sensory bin. And you can use each of the different scoops to see how much rice they hold and the pour the rice back into the bin.

This fun small sensory scoop shovel is fun to put the rice in the fun funnel and watch it come out the other side.

There is also a fun sifter the rice as well. All easy ideas that kids can explore in the rice. And these can be used with any sensory bin as well.

And Remember to Just Play in the Rice Sensory Bin
No matter what you do with the rice sensory bin, always remember that play is a big part of this sensory bin. And it can make a huge mess. But that is part of sensory play as well is exploring space around them in the word.
