Easy Winter Multiplication Matching Cards
There are so many different ways to work on multiplication and it often seems overwhelming learning them. One way to work on this is to show how addition and multiplication work together. I know that when I’ve been relearning the new systems from the school, it was not easy. But I do enjoy seeing that there are many ways to learn.
These multiplication matching cards are a hands-on way to work in learning how it works together. Plus this is the last printable in the 31 days of Free Printables
I know that my girls love when they can play matching games. It is one type of game that is easy to set up. We have been doing several types of games with our flashcards to work on multiplications. We have also been working on the concepts that multiplication is groups of numbers. It is shown with arrays or addition.
We learn that three times five is equal to five plus five plus five. I made the matching game to match up the two different equations. You have cards with the multiplication on it. Then you have cards with the matching addition on them. There are numbers 1 through 6 on here. I made this a beginner set of cards. Plus a very hands-on way to look at it!
I have a page of images that you can use to print on the back of the cards. The cards are fun with the snowflakes on the back. You print the first four pages. Be sure to make sure you know what way your printer prints the pages. I always put a mark on one side. Then turn the pages over and print the snowflakes on the back. Plus it just makes the cards fun!
The first time we played the cards we did it with all the equations showing. This type of playing allowed them to see how the cards would match up. With my oldest we did how fast she can do it. My middle who is working on multiplication, I had her tell me why they matched.
The second time we played it was with the snowflake backs showing, and we had tons of fun with it. It is such a simple and fun way to learn.
