One of the skills that you work on in first grade is some basic skip counting by 2, 5 and 10s. I love changing up how we do this. I have put several of skip counting puzzles in some of the themed packs. We have loved using them.
But we have never had a full set to use. I thought it would be fun to have a set for this winter to use. So today we have skip counting by two puzzles with a fun winter theme!
This printable is a part of the 7 Days of Winter Printables.
Puzzles have always been a great way that my girls liked. My youngest is in first grade will be working on skip counting by twos this year. It was a skill that my older two did okay with. I thought it would be fun to work on it more.
These puzzles are meant to be fun to use. You can use one or all five of them. Each puzzle skip counts ten times. So each puzzle just goes up in numbers. So you start at 2, and the last puzzle ends at 100.

I laminate each of the puzzles and the blank board. That makes it easier to reuse. I also put putty on the puzzles or the board. If we are just doing one puzzle, I do the puzzle pieces. If we are doing several puzzles, I do it on the blank board.
The putty tends to stick to whichever you press the hardest.

The first time through the puzzle I just give her the board and the puzzle cut out. I will tell her the pattern of the numbers. Then she puts the puzzle together.

After the puzzle is finished I have her skip count forward and then backward. She uses the numbers on the side of the puzzle.

Another time we do the puzzles I might have the piece already attached to the board out of order and have her put them in the correct order. It is fun for her and me to do.
