Dragon Book Round Up!

Dragon Book Round Up

This Friday the Medieval pack is coming out. Here are some of the dragon books that helps inspire this pack. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Medieval Pack

East Dragon, West Dragon by Robyn Eversole and Scott Campbell is a great book about dragons and being afraid when you don’t have to be. Not knowing and avoid conflicts. It has knights, dragons, a king and an emperor.

The Sunflower Sword (Andersen Press Picture Books) by Mark Sperring is a fun book about a boy that wants to be a knight and slay dragons. His mother gives him a sunflower and tells him it is his sword. I loved the book and was fun.

Over at the Castle by Boni Ashburn A fun knights, castle, and dragon rhyming and counting to 10 book. It can also be sung to the classic folk song “Over in the Meadow.”

The Knight and the Dragon (Paperstar Book) by Tomie dePaola is a great book about learning about a knight and what he does and what a dragon does as well. That you don’t always have to fight.

Saint George and the Dragon by Margaret Hodges is a great retelling of the story. It has great pictures and is well done.

Oscar and the Very Hungry Dragon by Ute Krause is a fun story about a dragon that wakes up hungry and the town sends Oscar to feed him. I love the story and it has a fun ending.

Hide-And-Seek Dragons (Touchy-Feely Flap Books) is a fun life the flap book. It is a fun to read over and over. Plus also teaches colors at the same time.

I love the book sets you come up with to accompany your preschool packs. My kids think they are so neat, especially because everything matches. Thank you from all of us! We just placed these books on hold at our library and are planning to have a whole dragon themed week at preschool!

Can’t wait to use your Medieval Pack too! I love “No Such Thing as a Dragon” – another book by Jack Kent (must date me somewhat, most of his books came out when my daughters were young). http://www.amazon.com/Theres-No-Such-Thing-Dragon/dp/0375851372
