Addition is one printable that I always get more requests for. People are always looking for new ideas or printables they can use.

I thought it would be fun to make free snowman matching puzzles for addition. They are a super fun way to work on addition math facts from 1 to 10.

And I know people love having the option of hands-on to use in place of worksheets.

This is a great addition to the addition printables and winter printables on the site.

What is Addition?

Addition is adding one from one number or adding to the number. You would have 2 + 3 = 5 as an example. You are adding 3 more to 2 to get the number five.

Each of the puzzles has a number and then two matching equations that add up to that number. You can see an example below. I recommend printing these on cardstock and laminating them.

These puzzles are great for review or learning addition. You can use them for what works best for your needs.

You can start off by having them match the puzzles. I like to start off with just a few numbers if they are just starting out.

Now if they are not ready for matching two equations, then start off with just one! The first and ends puzzles work great for matching as well! You can see how I set it up below. Super simple and easy to do. Then they are only looking for one addition equation.

You can see how nicely they fit together. I made it this way to be flexible to what your needs are and it allows kids to grow with the puzzles.

If you want to add another hands-on element to the card use unifix cubes. You can build the cubes to match the two equations. They can see a visual of how the two addition equations add up to the same amount.
