What is pre-writing?
Pre-writing is the skill to build to work up to writing letters and other types of writing.
You start out with thick prewriting lines and work to thinner prewriting lines. Then to prewriting patterns that work into writing letters.
The spider prewriting printable work on tracing lines from the top down or the bottom up. this is a fun way to change up how kids work on prewriting.
It is recommended that you print the prewriting strips on cardstock and laminate them. It helps to keep them in great shape and so you can reuse them.

Ways to Use the Spider Prewriting Tracing Strips Printable
Laminate the Prewriting Tracing Strips and put on a Ring
You can see below that we laminated all 8 tracing strips and put them on a right. This is a simple way to keep all the prewriting strips together.
Trace the Prewriting Strips
You can see we traced the prewriting strips with a dry erase marker. It is easy to wipe off and use over and over. You can start with a thick marker and switch to a thin for a challenge.
Using Playdough on the Prewriting Strip Printable
You can use playdough to line the prewriting strip. It is another way to use the prewriting printable. You could start off with playdough and then trace the strip.
Line the Prewriting Line with Erasers
You can line the prewriting lines with mini erasers. You can see all the spider ones we have found. There are always ones to find around Halloween.
